Digital marketing success is like a three legged stool. Your must have three legs if you want it to stand. You might call it the Three pillars of marketing:  Engagement, Visibility, and Conversion.

If you address these three issues well … intentionally and specifically, your marketing will make you money.

Marketing Pillar #1: Engagement

First, your marketing message (what you say about your business) must cause people to engage. It must  connect with how people think and feel as human beings.

People engage when you talk about something they care about. When you  talk about the success they want to achieve, and the failure they want to avoid, they will listen.

Marketing Pillar #2: Visibility

No matter how engaging your message, for digital marketing success, you make it visible to your right-fit audience.

Basically you have three modes of visibility. Direct, Organic and Paid. Most of the time, my advice would be that you should do all three.

Pillar #3: Conversion

No matter how engaging your message and no matter how visible you make it,  your digital marketing success won’t see it’s best results unless you optimize for conversion.

What is conversion? Conversion happens when people convert their money into a product or service you offer.

The first step in conversion optimization is to craft a complete, clear message. Your message touches even human-emotion trigger points, to capture attention, build trust and motivate action.

Then, this crucial conversion piece: ASK! You MUST ASK.

Beyond that, conversion ratios can continue to be increased through strategies that allow you to communicate over time with those people who are interested in your offer, but not quite yet ready to buy when they first encounter your message.

Track It, Measure it, Celebrate

A key element in digital marketing success involves how you track your visibility, the levels of engagement you achieve and the  ratios of conversion that result.  We have identified five numbers we believe you need to help you do just that.
